Oct-24-2011--Libya's National Transitional Council are making final plans to bury the body of the former leader Muammar Gaddafi in a secret desert grave location.

The cold storage unit in Misrata, where the bodies of Gaddafi, his son Mutassim and his defence minister has been emptied.

The National Transitional Council says the bodies will be buried within hours.

Oct-20-2011--Colonel Gaddafi has reportedly been captured alive, after two months on the run. The country's new authorities claim the ousted leader's been taken in his hometown of Sirte, reportedly overrun by government forces.

It's been the last major stronghold of Gaddafi's supporters for the past two months. Reporters in Sirte have so far been unable to confirm Gaddafi's capture, or even that the town has fallen to interim forces.

Papandreou Prevails in First

Greek Austerity Vote After Clashes

Oct-19-2011--Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou won a preliminary vote on a new round of austerity measures, sending a signal to euro-area leaders that Greece will hold to its bailout program amid social unrest. About 70,000 people gathered in Athens for the first day of a 48-hour strike in one of the biggest protests yet against Papandreou's program of cost-cutting and tax rises, according to police. They said 50 officers were injured in the square and they had reports of 3 civilians hospitalized in the clashes.

Twenty-eight people were detained for attacks on police and another five arrested.
